Take charge of your health

Form partnerships. Ask questions. Take action.

Yes, change is inevitable as you age. But you don’t have to live with uncomfortable urinary problems. If you’re waking up frequently to go to the bathroom, having difficulty emptying your bladder; or having trouble sitting through a meeting, sports event, or movie without having to go to the bathroom, it’s time to take action.

  1. Keep a record of your symptoms – their frequency and how much they bother you. It may help to record your symptoms in a diary
  2. Talk to your doctor about your symptoms. Your doctor may refer you to a urologist, a physician who specializes in problems of the urinary tract and male reproductive system
  3. Build a partnership with your doctor to manage your health. Communicate openly and directly
  4. Communicate with your spouse or life partner. Your symptoms could be affecting your partner too
  5. Learn all you can. Set the wheels in motion to get an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment
